Education and qualifications

I am registered with theRegister of Psychologists of Tuscany with number 5767. I graduated in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Florence and specialized in Gestalt Psychotherapy, with training in EMDR and Autogenic training.

I gained experience in the field of psychiatry at the Florence Local Health Authority (ASL) and in psycho-oncological support at the Psycho-oncology Unit of Careggi Hospital. I also worked as a psychologist at an educational community for minors and have been leading training groups in the sports field at UISP Florence for years.

What I do

My approach

I work with an integrated approach based on the Gestalt psychotherapy as its foundation: attention to the present, awareness and contact with one's own needs. Alongside this I use cognitive-behavioral techniques to intervene on the mechanisms that maintain distress, the Autogenic training for work on physiological activation, andEMDR when there are traumatic experiences to be processed.

The combination is not decided in advance: it is built around the person, after the first sessions.

How a course of therapy works

We start with a few initial sessions to understand the situation and define goals together. From there, frequency and format are agreed upon, and reviewed over time based on how the work progresses. Each session lasts about fifty minutes and is covered by professional confidentiality.

If you want to know what to expect from the first meeting, I talk about it on the page about the first session. Regarding the overall duration of a course of therapy, you can find more information here.

Where I practice

At my practice in Florence, in Via Tommaso Campanella 5, in the Campo di Marte – Coverciano area, reachable by bus lines 10, 17, 20, 31, 32. Also available are online sessions.
