HOW I WORK

The my way of working refers mainly to the Gestalt Psychotherapy; however, based on the specific case, I integrate the Gestalt approach on the left psychotherapeutic approaches, learned in my professional career, always with a single goal:
help the person to help himself.

What is Gestalt?

Gestalt therapy aims to help people improve their quality of life by asking three fundamental questions:

WHAT DO YOU FEEL?
The first step in Gestalt-oriented psychotherapy is to help the person recognize and name their emotions. Each emotion has its own biological function and precise meaning that the person needs to rediscover in the here and now of therapy. Contrary to popular belief, there are no positive or negative emotions: behind every emotion, it is possible to trace the emergence of one's desires and needs.

He thinks too much
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
This is an important phase of self-assessment and negotiation, aimed at helping the individual imagine and plan an alternative, sustainable, and achievable way to address all those situations of existential "blockage" where we feel as if we are in "checkmate" and every thought and action seems futile. The therapeutic goal is to help the individual transform the existential "block" into a new opportunity.
WHAT DO YOU WANT?
It's what the person chooses to do in their daily lives, based on what they've discovered in the therapy session, to make the therapy effective. The goal of psychotherapy is to help the person truly change something in their life, especially something they'd like to see happen differently. The psychotherapist supports the person in imagining and experimenting with alternative behaviors, aiming to find a new dynamic balance between emotions, thoughts, and actions.
